MY BIO
My name is Kim. A woman in her forties trying to handle all of life's challenges. My fitness journey started about 12 years ago. I found myself going through some changes. After 3 kids my body was definitely feeling and looking different. I wanted to make a change. (I was not quite ready to give up my favorite snacks.) I decided to try several types of fitness classes. This turned out to be more challenging than I expected. I once had a very young instructor scream at me because I didn’t finish the required number of jumping jacks. That was not going to work, not for me anyway. Circuit training and zumba were not motivating me. A gym was also not for me. People staring at me and equipment I didn’t know how to use. I could hire the gym trainer at an additional cost to my membership but this was out of budget. So after a variety of fitness classes, I found my way into a pole fitness class. To shorten a very long journey, I fell in love with this sport. I became certified and started teaching pole fitness. (AKA Pole dancing) My students were mostly woman looking to find their own type of movement. Some fell in love with pole but some did not. I really wanted to help all women find movement that would benefit and motivate them. Encourage them to start moving and implement that movement into their daily lives. I also knew how busy lives were and wanted to make fitness as easy and convenient as possible. I went ahead and became a certified personal trainer. Since I knew I would never take my skills to the gym, I opened my own small business that I proudly call Finer Fitness.
I took my skills directly to my clients. With little to no equipment, I would show them how to move their bodies and utilize objects around them to create a beneficial movement in their daily activity. Movement that would work for each individual, never expecting one individual to move or feel the same as another. Traveling to homes, places of business or soccer fields to really work with their daily schedule. Each client and I would talk about diet and movement that would work for them. Starting slowly to build stamina and healthier habits. Every client required something different. Each body required different movement and different guidance from me. I was happy to comply. Sometimes during a session we would stretch because their body was so stiff from previous activity or lack of activity after sitting at a desk all day. Sometimes using muscles and doing all the planks and push ups in whatever modified or advanced form. Stretching, cardio or dancing around with purpose we would find the best movement for that day. Each client had different needs or reasons for having me come help move and motivate them. The best part was when clients would express how these small changes were having positive impacts on their daily life. I love hearing about health changes such as blood pressure going down and cholesterol becoming less problematic. Even aches and pains were slowly fading. I continued to teach pole fitness both privately and in studios. I’m happy to now offer both private training and pole sessions. A trainer who will hear your needs, take the reins and design the best form of movement for you. I'm super excited to be able to expand in this way and still offer that private professional service all clients deserve.
It is very important to me to respect my clients privacy, time, and abilities. All appointments are booked directly through email, call or text. Remember you can’t take care of everyone unless you take care of you! Doctors recommend you exercise and move your body daily and incorporating cardio movement. Finer Fitness is here to help you find the best movement for you! Together we will build your stamina and abilities and keep you motivated.
Additionally, I am super excited to turn your next ladies only event into one you will never forget. Lap dance, chair dance and of course pole dance parties are coming right to you or your venue. See services page for more info! This is an in person service that travels to you or your venue.
